Neil Bremner

I started my career in finance with the Bank of Scotland in the North East before moving to Aberdeen in the 1980s. During that time, I honed my expertise in banking and finance, becoming an Associate of the Institute of Bankers (Scotland) in 1988. In 1990, I relocated to the West of Scotland, taking on managerial roles with Dunfermline Building Society and Newcastle Building Society in Ayr. By the mid-90s, I made the switch to estate agency, managing The Solicitors Property Centre in Ayr but my entrepreneurial side was calling, so I took a four-year break to set up a financial services business in Sydney, Australia, an incredible experience both professionally and personally. In 2003, I returned to Scotland and joined Slater Hogg & Howison, working across branches in Glasgow and Ayrshire. Looking for my next challenge, I joined Corum in 2009, where I launched and successfully ran their office in Largs for 15 years. Over the years, I’ve built a great professional relationship with Fergus Duncan, the senior partner at Mactaggart & Co Solicitors so when the opportunity arose in 2023 to join the firm and revamp its long-standing estate agency, I was more than ready for the challenge. On the personal side, I’m married to Shona, who has a daughter and a son, and I have two sons of my own – Grant, a Chartered Surveyor, and Scott, an Estate Agent in Dundee. Safe to say, property runs in the family! When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me on the golf course, watching rugby, or out for a walk with Otto, my wire-haired dachshund.

I am the Senior Negotiator and Manager at Tagg and I have worked in the property business for nearly 30 years since moving to Scotland from my home town of Bangor, Co Down in Northern Ireland. I started my career working for Miller Homes in the new homes sector then moved into estate agency and worked for several corporate agents, including Slater Hogg and Howison in Ayr and also Corum in Largs which I managed with Neil Bremner for 15 years. I absolutely love my job and I have a proven track record as a successful negotiator who gives straight up, honest advice to clients. With 30 years’ experience in the property industry I am well equipped to deal with any aspect of the buying and selling process as I don’t think there is a situation that I haven’t had to handle during my career! I love all aspects of working in the property business but the best part is the feeling I get when a sale comes together knowing that I have helped both my client sell their home for the best possible price and that the buyer is delighted to secure the home of their dreams – it’s a real buzz and probably why I have stayed in the industry all these years, there’s nothing like it! I am married to Stephen and have two grown up children, Scott and Lucy. I spend my spare time going to the theatre, singing in a couple of local choirs and going to Zumba classes! I am a Senior Sales Negotiator at Tagg with 15 years experience working in Largs and the surrounding areas. Buying and selling a property can be a stressful experience and my job is to make sure that not only do I get the best price for my client, but also to try and make the whole process as smooth as possible. Customer service skills are so important when dealing with people, and I always do my best to offer my clients the highest possible levels of service. I love speaking to people, showing them round properties and finding them their new home. Another aspect of the job I enjoy is that everyday is different and I am dealing with new situations on a daily basis. When I am not working, I enjoy cycling, playing pickleball, and travelling.

I was born and raised in Largs and an original member of the Mactaggart & Co estate agency team. I joined in 2019 as a property consultant and pride myself on combining my excellent local knowledge with delivering a personalised service, listening attentively to clients’ needs and providing tailored guidance throughout the buying and selling process. With a background in computer graphics and a passion for capturing properties at their best, I have developed my role in the business to utilise my expertise in professional photography and editing skills to ensure our homes are showcased in their best light. I am looking forward to progressing the agency to the next level.
